From the Vancouver Daily World, on Tuesday, December 24, 1912…
Who knows how “Extra” becomes “Wuxtry”? And, personally – not to be sexist or racist in this day and age! – I wish All Good Sportsmen AND Sportswomen a Merry Christmas, a belated Happy Hanukkah, or best wishes for any holiday you celebrate at this time of year.
Thank you to everyone who takes a few minutes once a week or so to read these stories, and especially to those who offer comments; either by email or Facebook, or directly on the site.
All the best to everyone in 2018.
Merry Christmakkah from all of us in So Cal!
And best of the season to you, Eric. Here’s hoping there’s lots of Zweig under every hockey reader’s Christmas tree.
Too bad some people chose this time to issue death threats against all Canadian Jews by sending hate mail to synagogues across Canada. Too bad the nonJewish world is silent about this.
Let us mean “peace…to men(and women!) of good will” at this season of lights. Let light fill all hearts with the warm glow of friendship…..even if it just lasts a few days!
Heartfelt greetings, peace and happy, happy holiday season to ALL…and to ALL, good nights!
CHEERS!
( & “Be cautious!”)
Season’s Greetings to you too Eric. Looking forward to next year’s stories.
Eric,
Your missives every week and the terrific book on the Maple Leafs brought me great joy in 2017.
I wish you and yours a fantastic holiday season (Merry Christmas and Happy Hanakkuh and any holidays you and your readers may celebrate).
Kevin
Wuxtry? OK I looked it up….it is a slang term for Extra…..pretty funny word!!
We here at The Purrfect Pad wish you & Barbara & your extended families a happy Chanukkah…ok I’m a bit late but the sentiment remains!!!
